We’ve never done anything quite like this before — and we’re already missing the beach. So while Vancouver gets cold and wet outside, we thought: why not bring a little clothing-optional freedom indoors?

Newbie Nudies is a private 90-minute clothing-optional sauna experience at AetherHaus on Davie St, created for anyone who’s curious, new to naturism, or just wants a relaxed place to try something different. Nude Beach Map has booked the entire space for our group.

The Experience

The evening is hosted by Megan & Matt from Nude Beach Map, with the Aufguss experience led by the team at AetherHaus.

Inspired by the German tradition of Aufguss, the session combines sauna heat, scented steam, music and guided elements — with plenty of space to relax, cool down and enjoy the experience at your own pace.

We’ve booked the space for our group, with just 30 guest spots. Bathing suits are optional for the evening.

What the Night Looks Like

  • 7:25pm – Newbie Nudies begins at AetherHaus on Davie St
  • Settle in, get comfortable and meet the group
  • Enjoy the space at your own pace — bathing suits are optional
  • AetherHaus leads us through its Aufguss experience with music, scented steam and heat
  • Time to sauna, cool down, relax and just enjoy being there
  • 8:55pm – Session wraps up
  • If anyone’s keen, we may head next door afterwards for a quick cold beer

There’s no pressure to arrive feeling confident or experienced. The whole point is to make trying a clothing-optional social space feel easy, normal and welcoming.

We’ve never done an experience like this before either! We wanted to try something different indoors and enjoy it with a small group of people who are new, curious or still finding their feet.

You don’t need to know anyone or arrive feeling completely confident. Megan & Matt will be there to host, answer questions and experience the night alongside everyone else.

FAQ

Do I have to get naked? +

No. But this is designed as a private nude event, so we do encourage everyone to come ready to take part.

There’s no pressure to undress the second you walk in, and nobody is forced to do anything they’re uncomfortable with. Come with an open mind, take your time, and join in at your own pace.

I’ve never been to a clothing optional event. Is that okay? +
Absolutely. Newbie Nudies was created specifically to make that first experience easier. You won’t be the only person doing something like this for the first time.
What is Aufguss? +
Aufguss is a German-style sauna ritual using heat, scented steam and music. The AetherHaus team will guide the ritual while still giving you space to relax and enjoy the session at your own pace.
Where is it? +
AetherHaus on Davie St in Vancouver. Approved guests will receive the final event details before the night.
What should I bring? +
Bring a reusable water bottle and anything you’d normally want after a sauna, like comfortable clothes to change back into. AetherHaus provides towels, robes, shower products and secure lockers, so you don’t need to bring much..
Why do you screen guests? +
Because it’s a small private event, we curate the guest list to create a comfortable mix of men and women and a welcoming atmosphere for first-timers. Singles are absolutely welcome.
Are singles welcome? +
Yes. Single men and women are welcome. The application process simply helps us maintain the relaxed, respectful atmosphere we want for everyone.
What’s the phone and photo policy? +
Phones stay in the lockers. So there will be no photography for this event - including promotional photography. It will be 100% phone and photo free.
What happens after the sauna? +
The AetherHaus session ends at 8:55pm. If people are keen, we may head next door afterwards for a casual beer. Totally optional.
How much is it? +
Tickets are $59 CAD with no tax added. Beach Bum members save 10% on this event and every Nude Beach Trips event and trip.
